Jeera prices moved down by 1.48% to Rs 16,620 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators indulged in booking profits at existing higher levels.

Adequate stocks position following increased arrivals from producing region also put pressure on the jeera prices.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for October delivery moved down by Rs 250, or 1.48%, to Rs 16,620 per quintal, with an open interest of 4,782 lots.

August delivery declined by Rs 220, or 1.38%, to Rs 15,780 per quintal, with an open interest of 157,226 lots.

Market analysts said profit-booking by speculators, supported by weak trend at the spot market mainly led to fall in jeera prices at futures trade here.
