Jeera prices traded lower by Rs 45 to Rs 15,630 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators reduced their positions due to the new crop arrival pressure.
Also, weak export demand influenced the jeera futures prices.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery July traded lower by Rs 45, or 0.29% to Rs 15,630 per quintal, with an open interest of 15,630 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in June lost Rs 28, or 0.19% to Rs 15,082 per quintal in 20,409 lots.
Analysts said off-loading of positions by speculators triggered by increased arrivals of new crop and weak export demand led to the fall in jeera futures prices.
