Jeera prices dropped by Rs 219 to Rs 15,805 per quintal in futures trade today following increased arrivals in the physical market against sluggish demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for August delivery dropped by Rs 219, or 1.37%, to Rs 15,805 per quintal with an open interest for 19,905 lots.
Similarly, the spice for July delivery declined by Rs 154, or 0.99%, to Rs 15,430 per quintal in 1,623 lots.
Analysts said sluggish demand in the spot market against increased arrivals from producing regions mainly put pressure on jeera prices in futures trade here.
