Jeera prices fell by Rs 133 to Rs 14,720 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators reduced their positions, driven by weak spot market trend.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for July delivery fell by Rs 133, or 0.90%, to Rs 14,720 per quintal, with an open interest of 3,939 lots.

Similarly, the spice for August delivery lost Rs 104, or 0.68%, to Rs 15,235 per quintal, with an open interest of 20,370 lots.

Analysts said weak trend at the spot markets on sluggish demand mainly led to the fall in jeera futures prices.
