Jeera prices fell by Rs 115 to Rs 15,982 per quintal in futures trading today on profit booking by speculators and a weak export demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in April fell by Rs 115, or 0.71 per cent, to Rs 15,982 per quintal, with an open interest of 17,493 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in May declined by Rs 100 to Rs 16,342 per quintal, with a business volume of 11,217 lots.

Market analysts said apart from profit booking by speculators, weak export demand kept the pressure on the jeera futures prices.
