Jeera prices fell by Rs 342 to Rs 14,590 per quintal in futures trade today on reduced offtake by speculators influenced by a weak export demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, July contract for jeera fell by Rs 342, or 2.40%, to Rs 14,590, with an open interest of 13,491 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in August declined by Rs 350, or 2.39%, to Rs 14,995 in 18,621 lots.

Market analysts said weak exports demand mainly pulled down jeera futures prices.
