Jeera futures gain 0.52% as demand picks up

Jeera futures today rose by Rs 78 to Rs 15,119 per quintal at the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange following rising demand in spot market.

The jeera contract for far-month November rose by Rs 78, or 0.52 per cent, to Rs 15,119 per quintal with an open interest of 285 lots.

The August contract inched up by Rs 7, or 0.05 per cent to Rs 14,130 per quintal in 3366 lots.

Analysts said rising demand in spot market mainly led to rise in jeera futures.
