Jeera futures prices gained Rs 101 to Rs 13,406 per quintal today on buying by traders on hopes of a rise in demand in spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in June gained Rs 101, or 0.76%, to Rs 13,406 per quintal, with an open interest of 3,720 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in July edged up by Rs 63, or 0.46%, to Rs 13,855 per quintal, with a business volume of 21,375 lots.

Analysts said fresh buying by traders on expectations of a rise in demand in the spot market mainly helped jeera prices to trade higher at futures trade.
