Jeera prices rose by Rs 75 to to Rs 14,888 per quintal in futures trade today as traders created fresh positions, supported by a rise spot demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, November jeera rose by Rs 75, or 0.51%, to Rs 14,888 per quintal, with an open interest of 15,723 lots.

The October contract gained Rs 64, or 0.44%, to Rs 15,535 per quintal, with a trade volume of 12,915 lots.

Market analysts said fresh buying by traders on the back of a rise in demand in the spot market mainly helped jeera futures to trade higher.
