Jeera futures prices rose by Rs 76 to Rs 13,595 per quintal today due to pick up in demand in the spot market against tight supply.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, jeera for December delivery rose by Rs 76, or 0.56 per cent, to Rs 13,595 per quintal, with an open interest of 12,198 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in November gained Rs 72, or 0.55 per cent, to Rs 13,240 per quintal, with a business turnover of 7,998 lots.

Analysts said pick up in demand in the spot market amid decline in arrival, helped jeera prices to trade higher at futures trade.
