Jeera futures shed 1.1% on subdued demand

Jeera prices shed 1.11% to Rs 14,976 per quintal in futures trade today as traders offloaded their positions on the back of subdued local and exports demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, September jeera fell by Rs 168, or 1.11% to Rs 14,976 per quintal with an open interest of 7353 lots.

The October contract lost Rs 162, or 1.04% to Rs 15,463 per quintal in 20,610 lots.

Market analysts said traders offloaded their positions, driven by weak trend at spot market on subdued demand mainly pulled down jeera prices at futures trade.
