Jeera prices fell by Rs 114 to Rs 16,650 per quintal in futures trade today on emergence of profit booking by speculators amid subdued domestic demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX), jeera for May contract delivery fell by Rs 114, or 0.68 per cent, to Rs 116,650 per quintal, with an open interest for 447 lots.

Similarly, February futures contracts of the spice fell by Rs 107, or 0.68 per cent, to Rs 15,720 per quintal, with 1611 lots available for trade.

Market analysts said apart from profit-booking after yesterday's gains, subdued domestic demand also put pressure on jeera futures prices.
