Press Trust of India New Delhi

Jeera prices declined by Rs 22, or 0.16 per cent, to Rs 13,801 per quintal in futures trading today due to subdued demand in the spot market against adequate supply.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange platform, jeera for November delivery fell by Rs 22, or 0.16 per cent, to Rs 13,801 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,848 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in September-month lost Rs 15, or 0.11 per cent, to Rs 13,414 per quintal, with an open interest of 11,973 lots.

Analysts said subdued demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position mainly led to a decline in jeera prices at futures trade here.
