Jeera futures prices rose by Rs 60 to Rs 13,185 per quintal today, as speculators and traders enlarged their positions, supported by pick up in demand amid tight supplies at the spot markets.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, jeera for November delivery rose by Rs 60, or 0.38 per cent, to Rs 13,185 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,590 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in December gained Rs 63, or 0.43 per cent, to Rs 13,375 per quintal, with an open interest of 597 lots.

Analysts said firm spot demand, driven by ongoing festive and marriage season influenced jeera prices in futures trade.
