Jeera futures prices rose by Rs 45 to Rs 14,670 per quintal today as speculators enlarged their positions, driven by pick up in spot market demand.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in May rose by Rs 45, or 0.45%, to Rs 14,670 per quintal, with an open interest of 3,051 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in June moved up by Rs 28, or 0.18%, to Rs 15,185 per quintal, with a trade volume of 18,096 lots.
Analysts said fresh buying by speculators on pick up in demand in the spot market mainly led to the rise in jeera futures prices.
