Jeera gain 1.9% as demand picks up

Jeera for delivery in June moved up by 0.70%.

Jeera prices rose over 1% to Rs 13,245 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators enlarged positions, driven by pick up in demand in the spot market at prevailing lower levels.
    
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in July contracts gained Rs 142.50, or 1.09% to Rs 13,245 per quintal with an open interest of 16960 lots.
    
Similarly, jeera for delivery in June moved up by Rs 90, or 0.70% to Rs 13,000 per quintal in 5451 lots.
    
Analysts said speculators enlarged their positions, driven by a rise in demand in the spot market mainly helped jeera prices to trade higher at futures trade.
