Jeera prices gained Rs 48 to Rs 14,407 per quintal in futures trade today on emergence of buying following pick-up in spot market demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in September gained Rs 48, or 0.33%, to Rs 14,407 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,614 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in July edged up by Rs 36, or 0.26%, to Rs 13,672 per quintal, with a business turnover of 17,838 lots.

Analysts said fresh buying by traders on pick-up in demand in the spot market mainly helped jeera prices to trade higher at futures trade.
