Jeera and pepper prices rose by Rs 100 per quintal in the wholesale kirana market today on stockists buying following pick-up in demand, driven by ongoing festive season amid decline in arrivals.
Traders said fresh buying by stockists on the back of pick-up in demand for the ongoing festive season, mainly pushed up wholesale jeera and pepper prices.
In the national capital, jeera common and best quality rose by Rs 100 each to 15,600-15,900 and Rs 17,900-18,100, respectively, while black pepper common traded higher by the same margin to Rs 29,600-30,100 per quintal.
