Jeera prices gained Rs 100 per quintal in the wholesale kirana market today on emergence of buying by stockists on hopes of a rise in demand.
Elsewhere, other spices traded in a tight range on alternate bouts of trading and settled around previous levels.
Traders said fresh buying by stockists on pick up in retailers demand mainly pushed up wholesale jeera prices.
Jeera common and best quality rose by Rs 100 each to Rs 13,500-13,700 and Rs 15,100-15,600 per quintal, respectively.
