Jeera futures traded Rs 74 higher at Rs 13,639 per quintal today on dwindling stocks in the market but subdued export and domestic demand, restricted gains.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange counter, jeera for delivery in December traded Rs 74, or 0.55 per cent higher at Rs 13,639 per quintal, with an open interest of 1,383 lots.
Similarly, the spice for delivery in January contract moved up by Rs 36, or 0.26 per cent to Rs 14,036 per quintal, with a business turnover of 12,753 lots.
Analysts said dwindling stocks in the spot markets, supported the recovery in jeera futures prices here but weak export and domestic demand, capped gains.
