Jeera prices declined by Rs 30 to Rs 15,661 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators reduced their positions on the back of subdued local and export demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, October jeera declined by Rs 30, or 0.19%, to Rs 15,661 per quintal, with an open interest of 20,031 lots.

The September contract shed Rs 18, or 0.18%, to Rs 15,205 per quintal, with an open interest of 9,045 lots.

Analysts said speculators reduced their positions on the back of subdued local and export demand, which led to the decline in jeera futures prices.
