Jeera prices fell by Rs 150 to Rs 16,090 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators booked profits amid subdued spot market demand at existing higher levels.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, October jeera fell by Rs 150, or 0.92%, to Rs 16,090 per quintal, with an open interest for 17,523 lots.

The September contract shed Rs 134, or 0.85%, to Rs 15,658 per quintal, with an open interest for 17,055 lots.

Analysts said besides profit-booking by speculators, subdued demand in the spot market at prevailing higher levels mainly led to the decline in jeera futures prices.
