Jeera prices rose by Rs 82.50 to Rs 14,890 per quintal in futures market today.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, the April contract rose by Rs 82.50, or 0.56% to Rs 14,890 per quintal with an open interest of 3,069 lots.

Likewise, the March contract gained Rs 70, or 0.48% to Rs 14,780 per quintal in 14,523 lots.

Analysts said covering-up of pending short positions by speculators, triggered by rise in domestic and overseas demand, led to rise in jeera prices.
