Jeera up 0.6% on export demand

Jeera for delivery in July moved up by 0.27%.

Jeera prices rose by Rs 87.50 to Rs 13,047.50 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators enlarged their positions, driven by export demand in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in June rose by Rs 87.50, or 0.68% to Rs 13,047.50 per quintal with an open interest of 189 lots.

Similarly, jeera for delivery in July moved up by Rs 35, or 0.27% to Rs 13170 per quintal in 16785 lots.

Analysts attributed the rise in jeera futures to increased buying by speculators on export demand in the spot market.
