Jeera up 0.7% as demand picks up

Spice for delivery in January traded higher by 0.6%

Jeera prices traded up by 0.73% to Rs 13,060 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions supported by pick up in demand in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in December rose by Rs 95, or 0.73%, to Rs 13,060 per quintal with an open interest of 2,190 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in January traded higher by Rs 80, or 0.61%, to Rs 13,122.50 per quintal in 6,834 lots.

Analysts said speculators created fresh positions supported by pick up in demand in the spot market that helped jeera prices to trade higher at futures trade.
