Jeera up 1.5% on export demand

Prices moved up as speculators build-up huge positions

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Jeera futures for March rose by Rs 195, or 1.46%, to Rs 13,550 per quintal in 9,906 lots.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX), the April contract gained Rs 177.50, or 1.32%, to Rs 13,610 per quintal in 8,109 lots.

Prices moved up as speculators build-up huge positions on the back of fresh overseas enquiries and a pick-up in spot demand.

However, rising supplies from the new crop and expectations of a rise in output restricted the upside.
