Jeera prices rose by Rs 167 cent to Rs 16,112 per quintal in futures trade today supported by a firm spot market trend amid thin arrivals from producing regions.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in October rose by Rs 167, or 1.05% to Rs 16,112 per quintal with an open interest of 16,016 lots.

Similarly, the spice for September month gained Rs 154, or 0.99%, to Rs 15,645 per quintal in 13,320 lots.

Market analysts said pick-up in spot demand and thin arrivals from producing regions, mainly influenced jeera prices at futures trade here.
