Jeera weakens 0.26% on subdued demand

October contract falls 0.21%

Jeera prices weakened by Rs 37.50 to Rs 14,487.50 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators offloaded their positions on subdued demand in the spot market at existing higher levels.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in November declined by Rs 37.50, or 0.26%, to Rs 14,487.50 per quintal, with an open interest of 17,679 lots.

October jeera shed Rs 30, or 0.21%, to Rs 14,400 per quintal in 1,365 lots.

Marketmen said speculators offloaded their positions on the back of subdued demand in the spot market at prevailing higher levels.
