Jindal Steel pares early gains, ends flat

The stock shed 5% from its high and slipped to a low of Rs 2,045. It finally ended flat at Rs 2,075. Around 1,82,887 shares were traded on the BSE today.

Jindal Steel has soared 3% on a 140% surge in net profit

The scrip today opened at Rs 2,108, then slipped to a low of Rs 2,101. It  zoomed to a high of Rs 2,160, up 4% from its previous close.

The stock is currently trading at Rs 2,138, up 3%. Around 41,755 shares have been traded on the BSE so far.

According to a release issued by the company to the BSE, the group recorded a surge of 140% in net profit to Rs 3,007.15 crore for the year ended March 31, 2009, as compared to Rs 1,249.59 crore in the corresponding year.

 

Total income soared 97% to Rs 10,913.37 crore as against Rs 5,538.73 crore in the previous year.
