Potato prices shed 0.46% to Rs 1,263 per quintal in futures trade today due to increased supplies in spot market against lower demand.

At MCX, potato for delivery in July fell by Rs 5.80, or 0.46%, to Rs 1,263 per quintal with business volume of 32 lots.

The May contract lost Rs 3.80, or 0.35%, to Rs 1,096.50 per quintal in 69 lots.

Marketmen said increased supplies following rising arrivals from producing region against reduced offtake by lower demand mainly kept pressure on potato prices at futures trade.
