Kalpataru Power gains on acquiring Alipurduar Transmission

Shares of Kalpataru Power were up nearly 2% at Rs 255 on the Bombay Stock Exchange after the company announced acquisition of 100% equity stake of an SPV company Alipurduar Transmission Ltd (ATL)

ATL, is a wholly-owned subsidiary of REC Transmission Projects Company Ltd (RECTPCL)

The said SPV company was incorporated in April, 2015 by RECTPCL to establish transmission system strengthening in Indian System for transfer of power from nmew HEP's in Bhutan on BOOM basis and the compan has acquired it from RECTPCL pursuant to competitive bidding process carried out by RECTPCL, the company said in a release.

The stock opened at Rs 252 and touched a high of Rs 260. At 11:45am, over 81,000 shares were traded on both the stock exchanges.
