Kaveri Seed surges on Bayer CropScience eyes stake report

The stock has rallied over 14% to Rs 1,650 in early morning deals on the National Stock Exchange.

Kaveri Seed Company has surged 8% to Rs 1,554 in early morning deals on NSE on reports that Bayer CropScience is planning to buy a minority stake in the Hyderabad-based agricultural products company.

“Bayer CropScience, the crop protection and agri-products arm of German company BayerAG, is in preliminary talks to purchase a minority stake of less than 26% in Kaveri Seeds,” the Economic Times report suggests.

The stock opened at Rs 1,512 and hit a high of Rs 1,650 on NSE. A combined around 26,000 shares change hands on the counter till 0925 hours on NSE and BSE.
