The Sensex continues to exhibit lacklustre movement and is now up five points at 18,144. The NSE Nifty is up seven points at 5,330. Reliance Energy (REL) has soared over 4% to Rs 2,141. ACC has surged 3.3% to Rs 790. Grasim and DLF have rallied 1.7% each to Rs 2,940 and Rs 885, respectively. SBI has advanced 1.5% to Rs 2,215. Tata Steel, BHEL and Ambuja Cements are up over 1% each at Rs 808, Rs 2,051 and Rs 122, respectively. Bajaj Auto, Satyam and ITC have slipped over 2% each to Rs 2,289, Rs 400 and Rs 196, respectively. Cipla has shed 1.5% at Rs 199. Bharti Airtel and Hindustan Unilever are down over 1% each at Rs 890 and Rs 203, respectively. The market breadth is extremely positive - out of 2,684 stocks traded so far, 2,022 have advanced, 624 have declined and 38 were unchanged today. |
