Lacklustre trade continues

The Sensex is now down 432 points at 15,793. The Nifty is down 132 points at 4,713.

Markets have continued to display lacklustre movements after dipping to a low of 15,790. The Sensex is now down 369 points at 15,855.

The Nifty is down 109 points at 4,736.

The BSE mid-cap and small-cap indices have underperformed. The indices are down 2.5% and 2.9%, respectively.

All sectoral indices are in red. Among the,, the BSE realty, metal and bankex have dropped 2-4% each.

Tata Steel has slumped 4.2% to Rs 553. Hindalco and Sterlite have dropped 3% each.

 

Jaiprakash Associates and DLF have tumbled 3.5% each to Rs 126 and Rs 311, respectively.

ICICI Bank has shed 3.7% to Rs 798. ONGC, ACC, BHEL, HDFC, SBI, Infosys and Reliance have slipped 2.5% each.

Other losers include Tata Motors, TCS, Bharti Airtel, Larsen & Toubro and Mahindra & Mahindra.

The BSE market breadth is extremely positive. Out of 2,677 shares traded 2,305 have declined while 333 have advanced.
