Lacklustre trades continue

Markets continue to trade on a subdued note, even as auto stocks dip over 1%. The Sensex is now down 48 points at 19,892.

Nifty is down 13 points at 5,974.

BSE small-cap index is down 0.5% at 10,704. Mid-cap index is down 0.2% at 8,353.

BSE auto index has slipped 1.2% at 9,821. Tata Motors has shed 3% at Rs 1,154. Amtek Auto and Hero Honda have dropped 2% each to Rs 158 and Rs 1,863. Mahindra & Mahindra and Apollo Tyres have also dipped over 1% each.

Metal, realty and banking stocks continue to trade weak and are down nearly 1% each.

Sensex losers list is being led by auto, metal and banking stocks.

Hindalco among metal stocks has dropped 2% to Rs 212. Tata Steel has slipped 1.5% to Rs 596.

HDFC, ONGC, Reliance Infrastructure, Tata Power and Bharti Airtel are among the other losers.

Meanwhile, Reliance has gained 1.3% to Rs 1,098 ahead of its quarterly results due tomorrow. Cipla has added 1.3% to Rs 355. PSU stocks - NTPC and BHEL have added 1% in trades.

BSE market breadth is negative. Out of 2,854 stocks traded, 1,581 have declined while 1,186 have advanced.
