Lead declines 0.15% on weak demand

Subdued demand from battery-makers affects prices

Press Trust of India New Delhi
In restricted movements, lead prices eased by 0.15% to Rs 131.75 per kg in futures trading today as speculators reduced positions due to subdued demand from battery-makers in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity exchange, lead for delivery in July traded lower by 20 paise, or 0.15%, to Rs 131.75 per kg in business turnover of 376 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in August contracts shed 15 paise, or 0.11%, to Rs 132.85 per kg in 9 lots.

Market analysts attributed the weakness in lead futures to sluggish demand from battery-makers in the spot market.
