Lead down 0.1% on sluggish demand, global cues

Sluggish demand, weak trend in base metals led to the fall in prices

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Lead prices drifted by 0.16% to Rs 123.80 per kg in futures trading today due to sluggish demand from battery-makers in the spot market amid a weak global trend.

At the Multi Commodity exchange, lead for delivery in June declined 20 paise, or 0.16%, to Rs 123.80 per kg in business turnover of 456 lots.

Metal prices for delivery in July fell by a similar margin to Rs 124.90 per kg in a turnover of four lots.

Market analysts said besides sluggish demand from battery-makers in the spot market, a weak trend in base metals pack at the London Metal Exchange, mainly kept pressure on lead prices at futures trade.
