Lead down 0.1% on sluggish spot demand, global cues

Marketmen said weakness in copper and other base metals on LME weighed on lead futures prices

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Continuing its slide, lead prices fell further by 0.19% to Rs 128.90 per kg in futures trade today as speculators engaged in reducing positions due to low spot demand and a weak trend overseas.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in October fell by 25 paise, or 0.19%, to Rs 128.90 per kg in business turnover of 117 lots.

The metal for delivery in September also traded lower by 20 paise, or 0.16%, to Rs 127.60 per kg in a turnover of 668 lots.

Marketmen said besides subdued demand from domestic consuming industries, weakness in copper and other base metals on the London Metal Exchange on slowing demand in China before next week's holidays, weighed on lead futures prices here.
