Lead down 0.3% on sluggish demand

Market analysts said sluggish demand from battery-makers in the spot market mainly weighed on lead futures

Press Trust of India New Delhi
Lead prices shed 0.30% to Rs 132.05 per kg in futures trade today due to sluggish demand from battery-maker in the spot market even as metal strengthened overseas.

At the Multi Commodity exchange, lead for delivery in November declined 40 paise, or 0.30%, to Rs 132.05 per kg in business turnover of 882 lots.

The metal for delivery in December contracts too fell by a similar margin to trade at Rs 133.25 per kg in 55 lots.

Market analysts said sluggish demand from battery-makers in the spot market mainly weighed on lead futures but metal's strength at the London Metal Exchange capped the losses.
