Lead futures fell by 1.43 per cent to Rs 110.50 per kg on the Multi Commodity Exchange today as speculators offloaded their holdings amid a weak trend at the London Metal Exchange.
Lead for November delivery fell by Rs 1.60, or 1.43 per cent, to Rs 110.50 per kg, with a business turnover of 23 lots, while nickel for December delivery shed Rs 1.45, or 1.37 per cent, to Rs 111.40 per kg in three lots.
Analysts said profit-booking by speculators and weakness in lead prices at the London Metal Exchange mainly put pressure on lead futures here.
Lead lost 0.8 per cent to $2,499.75 a tonne at the London Metal Exchange today.
