Lead down almost 1% on global cues

Prices edged lower after speculators trimmed positions

Lead futures for May shed Rs 1.05, or 0.95%, to Rs 109.75 per kg in 471 lots.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), the April contract declined by 95 paise, or 0.87%, to Rs 108.70 per kg in 1,231 lots.

Prices edged lower after speculators trimmed positions amid subdued spot demand.

Weak trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange (LME) amid concern that lower-than-forecast growth in the US and China, the world's biggest consumers of the metal, will reduce demand, mainly weighed on the lead futures prices here.
