Lead futures dip on sluggish demand, global cues

Amid weak trend in overseas and sluggish demand from battery makers in the spot market, lead prices traded lower by Rs 1.30 to Rs 107.65 per kg in futures market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in December declined by Rs 1.30, or 1.19%, to Rs 107.65 per kg, with a business turnover of 2,984 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in January shed Rs 1.30, or 1.18%, to Rs 108.70 per kg, with a trade volume of 95 lots.

Traders said besides weak trend in overseas market, subdued demand from battery makers in the spot market mainly led to decline in lead features prices.

 

Meanwhile, lead declined by 1.4% to $2,080 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
