Lead prices fell by 0.46% to Rs 107.30 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced their positions amid subdued demand in the spot market and a weak trend on the London Metal Exchange (LME).
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in December declined by 50 paise, or 0.46%, to Rs 107.30 per kg in 595 lots.
The metal for January contract delivery followed suit, losing 50 paise, or 0.46%, to Rs 108.20 per kg, with an open interest for 34 lots.
Meanwhile, lead declined by 1% to $2,085 per tonne on the LME in early trade today.
Market analysts said a weakening trend in the domestic spot market due to sluggish demand from battery-makers and weakness on the LME mainly put pressure on metal prices in futures trade.
