Lead futures down on overseas trend

Amid weak trend in entire base metals pack overseas, lead futures traded marginally lower by 0.08 per cent at Rs 120.40 per kg today. 

At the Multi Commodity Exchange platform, lead for January traded lower by 10 paise, or 0.08 per cent to Rs 120.40 per kg, with a business turnover of 631 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in February weakened by 10 paise, or 0.07 per cent to Rs 120.905 per kg, with a business turnover of 73 lots. 

Analysts said weak trend at the London Metal Exchange, as expectations of slower growth in China, the largest consumer, dampened the demand outlook, weighed on the lead futures prices here.

Meanwhile, lead traded slightly lower at $2,660 a tonne at the London Metal Exchange.
