Tracking a weakening trend in the base metals at the London Metal Exchange, lead prices fell by 1.37% to Rs 111.75 per kg in futures trading today as speculators reduced their positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in June declined by 45 paise, or 1.37% to Rs 111.75 per kg, with a business turnover of 90 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in May shed 45 paise, or 1.28% to Rs 111.60 per kg, with a business volume of 718 lots.

Analysts said a weak trend in copper and other base metals overseas along with subdued trend at the spot markets led to the fall in lead futures prices here.
