Tracking gains in the base metals at the London Metal Exchange and pick-up in domestic demand, lead prices moved up by 0.46% to Rs 120.05 per kg in futures trading today.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in April moved up by 55 paise, or 0.46%, to Rs 120.05 per kg, with a business turnover of eight lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in May edged up by 50 paise, or 0.45%, to Rs 120.05 per kg, with a business turnover of seven lots.

Market analysts said besides a firming trend in base metals at the London Metal Exchange (LME), increased demand from battery-makers pushed lead futures prices up.

Meanwhile, lead traded a shade higher at $2,652 per tonne at the LME.
