Lead futures traded 0.23 per cent higher at Rs 109.15 per kg today, as speculators enlarged their positions, even as the metal weakened at the London Metal Exchange.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, lead futures for December delivery rose by 25 paise, or 0.23 per cent to Rs 109.15 per kg, with a business turnover of 23 lots.
Similarly, lead futures for January contract delivery also gained 20 paise, or 0.18 per cent to Rs 110.05 per kg, with a business turnover of five lots.
Meanwhile, lead climbed 0.2 per cent to $2,400 per tonne at the London Metal Exchange.
Market analysts said a firm trend in metal at the spot markets, helped lead to trade higher at futures market here but firming trend at the LME, capped the losses.
