Lead prices rose by Rs 1.20 to Rs 119.20 per kg in futures trade today on increased demand by battery makers.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in May rose by Rs 1.20, or 1.02%, to Rs 119.20 per kg, with an open interest of a single lot.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in March traded higher by 60 paise, or 0.51%, to Rs 118.70 per kg, with a business turnover of 31 lots.

Market analysts said increase in demand from battery makers mainly helped lead futures prices to trade higher.
