Lead futures rise on spot demand, global cues

Supported by an increasing spot demand and gains in other base metals, lead futures traded 0.46 per cent higher at Rs 108.65 per kg today.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange counter, lead futures for December delivery edged up by 50 paise, or 0.46 per cent to Rs 108.65 per kg, with a business turnover of 15 lots.

Similarly, lead futures for January contract delivery also gained 45 paise, or 0.41 per cent to Rs 109.60 per kg, with a business turnover of 5 lots.

Market analysts said a firm trend in other base metals in global markets and a strong spot demand, helped lead to trade higher at the futures market here.
