Lead futures up on firm spot demand

Lead futures prices traded higher by 0.79 per cent to Rs 120.45 per kg today on increased demand from battery makers. 

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in March traded higher by 95 paise, or 0.79 per cent, to Rs 120.45 per kg, with an open interest of just two lots. 

Similarly, the metal for delivery in February contract weakened by 70 paise, or 0.59 per cent, to Rs 120.35 per kg, with a trade volume of three lots.  

Market analysts said pick up in demand in the spot market from battery makers, also influenced the lead futures prices.
